It’s also in this spirit that OMG! Ubuntu! Editor Benjamin approached the Debian Project for a “Debian column” on OMG! Ubuntu. The project was very welcoming and myself and another Debian contributor have been accepted as authors, so expect more articles from me in the future.
Don’t forget to activate universe in Ubuntu or non-free in Debian repos.

So you’re a developer and want to distribute your application in i.e. Ubuntu but you don’t have the time to learn how to package it? pkgme can be your answer.
Looking for a good reference for different Linux package managers? yum, apt, pacman, portage. This Arch Linux Wiki entry explains the more common tasks in package management and how to do it on the different package managers.
This of course includes the ones used on the main distributions, then of course applies to their respectives derivatives.
A good reference, because for instance I’m used to use different distros at home and work.
